WEEDS IN THE GARDEN OF GOD
“ For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry...” (1 Cor. 3:9)

A simple yet very far reaching thought, Jesus taught the parable of the tares revealing, the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one. We also find the Word of God referred to as seed that is sown into men’s hearts, “ Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower, when anyone heareth the word of the kingdom.”
With this understanding we must realize that there has been an ongoing battle against weeds being sown among God’s people, (meaning teachings, doctrines, traditions and anything differing from the pure word of God). We find warnings in the bible from Jesus himself and also from the Apostles in the letters written to God’s people found in the New Testament.
“But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matt.15:9)
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Col. 2:8)
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” (1 Timothy 4:1)
“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.” (Hebrews 13:9)
We are children of the kingdom when we are born of water and of the Spirit.
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5, Acts 2:38)
Jesus broke the division between Jew and Gentile and made salvation available to all of mankind. As Christians, children of the Kingdom, we are to walk in dominion now, not put all God has for us off into the future, missing the victory, power and blessings He has intended for our lives right now.
